Jamil Zoughbi is a Master of Divinity student at Wartburg Theological Seminary, preparing for ordained ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Originally from Jerusalem, Jamil brings more than a decade of experience in Christian ministry, education, pastoral leadership, and community engagement.
Before coming to the United States, Jamil served as a deacon in the Greek Catholic Melkite Church in Jerusalem and taught religion in schools throughout Jerusalem and the West Bank.
At Wartburg, Jamil has served on the Student Chapel Staff and in several student leadership roles. His background in theology, education, and social work has shaped his passion for pastoral care, Christian formation, multicultural ministry, and accompanying people through the joys and challenges of life.
Jamil is grateful for the opportunity to serve and learn with the congregation during his internship year and to discover together where God is at work among us.
